Deferred giving is a means by which you can continue to support PCA, even after you are gone. It is surprisingly simple to establish a deferred giving plan that works for you and your family, and can be done regardless of the size of one’s estate. In 2008, Prison Congregations of America was awarded a Charitable Gifting Initiative Grant by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans to host a series of Deferred Giving Workshops. The events include a light supper and a discussion of different options for deferred giving by a representative of Lutheran Planned Giving. Participants learn about tools that families can use to simplify the passage of one’s estate from one generation to another. Why such a workshop now in these fragile economic times? As the economy recovers, it is more important than ever that we learn about the benefits of deferred giving.
